Senior Test Analyst
Job Description
As a Senior Test Analyst, you’ll plan and manage the testing of key BAU workstreams and projects, coordinating with external vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure releases run smoothly and are delivered on schedule. This is a fantastic opportunity to deepen your hands-on experience in software testing while developing your leadership, technical and analytical skills.
The main duties for this role are:
- Designing and executing functional and regression tests that ensure comprehensive coverage and quality
- Collaborating with change teams (BA/PM), development, and the wider business to align testing with business and project objectives
- Identifying, planning and implementing the test approach across BAU and project workstreams, while adhering to departmental standards and release deadlines
- Monitoring estimates against actuals, escalating potential slippage and providing workable options for mitigation
- Monitoring and reporting on test results, creating and maintaining reporting dashboards, and producing completion reports for stakeholder approval
- Adhering to the testing strategy, processes and procedures to support governance, and maintaining accurate documentation and artefacts for audit purposes
- Designing and maintaining reusable regression tests in line with internal standards, supporting test execution where needed to meet deadlines
- Developing your own knowledge of automation technology and practice to enable a shift-left, automation-first approach
- Coordinating and supporting UAT/BVT testing activities
- Performance management, training and support of direct reports
To carry out this role to the desired level, the successful individual should have the following skills and experience:
- Excellent understanding of testing principles, techniques and methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and a commitment to quality
- Excellent communication, collaboration and leadership skills
- A proven track record of delivering to tight deadlines
- Experience using Gherkin syntax for test case design
- ISTQB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing
- A minimum of 3 years’ testing experience
- Experience within a regulated industry is an advantage
- Experience of test automation is an advantage
- Experience in people management is an advantage, although training will be given to the right individual
